Assignment :

Suppose Areva worldwide Ltd is an IT consulting company focused on maximizing customer’s satisfaction and return on investment by delivering high- quality software solutions. An IT manager of a call center comes to Areva worldwide Ltd and communicates the requirements of his software application to Areva worldwide Ltd’s software engineer. The requirements are mentioned below.

a)      An email application with task/contact manager and calendar.

b)     An anti virus / virus scanner application.

 c)      A browser that facilitate searching, navigation and audio streaming.

d)     Automatic call distribution programs that do even distribution of incoming calls to teams of customer-service representatives trained either to take orders, provide support.

You are required to identify the software postures for the above applications (for a, b, c, d) and explain them.

Sovereign. Posture It maintains user’s attention for long periods of time and is best used full-screen. Examples are word processors, spreadsheets, email and many vertical applications.

(.An anti virus / virus scanner application) Daemonic posture that do not normally interact with the user.   They usually manage a process. Example is a printer driver. It keep the user informed of its purpose and scope and meaning of users available choices. Windows system tray often used for this purpose and may access daemonic programs via control panel.

(A browser that facilitate searching, navigation and audio streaming)Auxiliary posture these programs blend the characteristics of sovereign and transient programs. Continuously present, like a sovereign, but only performs as supporting role.  Usually is small and superimposed on another program. Examples are Windows taskbar, clock programs and performance monitors.

 (Automatic call distribution programs that do even distribution of incoming calls to teams of customer-service representatives trained either to take orders, provide support) Auxiliary posture are typically silent reporters of ongoing processes, although some, like Stickies or stock tickers, are for displaying other data the user is interested in. In some cases, this reporting may be a function that they perform in addition to actually managing processes, but this is not necessarily true. An auxiliary application may, for example, monitor the amount of system resources either in use or available. The program constantly displays a small bar chart reflecting the current resource availability
